Most contractor accommodation asks you to share a bathroom. This one doesn't. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms — one en-suite off the main bedroom, one main shower room — so two of you can share the flat without ever queueing for the shower before a shift.
That matters more than it sounds. Early starts stack up, and if you and whoever else is in the flat are both trying to get out of the door for the same 6am gate time, one bathroom becomes the whole morning. Here you each get your own.
The lounge opens through French doors onto the lawn, and there's a full kitchen with an oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The flat is cleaned before you arrive and comes with two sets of linen, and every utility is in the nightly rate — gas, electricity, water, council tax and the TV licence — so the number we quote you is the number you pay.
Canute Road puts you on the edge of Ocean Village: restaurants, bars, a cinema and the marina within a few minutes' walk, and the city centre not much further. It's around 20 to 25 minutes down to the Fawley complex outside peak.

Canute Road is on the Southampton waterfront, so the run out to the A326 and down to the Fawley complex takes a little longer than our Shirley and Totton properties — the trade-off is having the marina and the city centre on your doorstep at the end of a shift.
- What is there to do nearby?
- Ocean Village marina is a few minutes' walk, with restaurants, bars and a cinema, and the city centre is a short walk beyond that. On a long placement it makes a real difference having somewhere to go that isn't the flat.
- How does cleaning and bedding work?
- The flat is professionally cleaned before you move in and we provide two sets of linen, so you can strip a bed and put a fresh set on whenever you want. There is a washing machine in the flat for bedding and work clothes, and cleaning during your stay is available on request — just let us know and we'll arrange it.
